Ten kilometers anywhere is still a long way to go! Whether your on earth or in space or in this case, an asteroid. Average human walking speed (the very lazy-lazy and struggling type) is approximately 4 to 5 kilometers per hour. Which means ten kilometers is a couple of hours distance. If you are very, very fit and can run a kilometer distance under 2 or 3 minutes, 10 kilometers is just a 30 minute run for you. Still, ten kilometers is a fair distance from any place.
